In 1864 Stefan was very outgoing. Him and his brother were the best of friends and were both very happy and always up for new challenges. That all changed after he was turned and then the arrival of Kathrine Patrova. Kathrine changed him in ways he couldn't ever explain. This was due to his love for her.
But shortly after their meeting, Stefan feel back into a depression of sorts when he was forcefully stricken from her by the cruel hands of fate. He continued into this depression until the year 2010 when he would be almost reunited with his love. But not her in personality per say, but reincarnation almost.
Once meeting Elena and being her boyfriend he started to act more and more like his old self ...People even thought he was a great guy and looked up to him. In turn he started to become, outgoing and loving to others, the way he was before he was turned and stripped from the one thing that truly mattered...True love.
Being with Elena also opened him up to many others such as, Bonnie, Caroline, Matt and Jeremy, which he considered his friends. Stefan was born on the 5th of November in Mystic Falls in 1847 to Giuseppe Salvatore and his unknown wife. His older brother Damon was his best friend in their human lives until the two had differences concerning their lover, Katherine Pierce, who turned both Salvatore brothers into vampires. Stefan unintentionally hinted to his father about a vampire being present in Mystic Falls, when he told him that vampires might not be as bad as they're said to be. Afterwards his father drugged him with vervain and when Katherine bit him, she was weakened and taken to be killed. Damon was devastated and furious with Stefan as he had made him promise not to tell their father.
They decided to free Katherine, but were shot and killed in the process. Stefan woke up the next day and was informed by Emily Bennett, that he and Damon were transitioning into vampires. Katherine had compelled him for weeks to drink her blood while Damon drank willingly. Stefan later went to see his father, who revealed that he was the one who shot Damon and Stefan, beginning their transitioning. When he tried to kill Stefan, he accidentally stabbed himself. Stefan tried to help him, but the lust for blood was overwhelming and when he tasted his father's blood, he became a vampire. Stefan then compelled a young woman to go with him to Damon where he convinced his brother to become a vampire by drinking her blood. Damon, a full vampire, declared he was going to make Stefan's life miserable for the rest of eternity. later revealed that Damon was angry that Katherine had changed Stefan as well, which is the reason why he hates him so much.
Now Stefan is with Elena who looks exactly like Katherine though he says that is not why he is with her, it is because she is the exact opposite of what Katherine is. He still possess feelings for Katherine though will never admit it since he believes that she compelled him to love her. But there is a problem. He is starting to sense that she might have developed or is developing feelings for his brother...How is he to deal with it then ...Could he stand being in conception over a girl again? Epically when it nearly killed them the last time they fought over a girl...And that girl was Katrina Patrova.
